Residency Statement

The ACA residency will be based on the exploration of the unique environment and landscape around New Smyrna Beach, Florida and the physical location of the residency. We will focus our time together on group critique, individual conversations, photographic technique, and discussions around photography. It is important for applicants to be a practicing artist in photography to achieve the high level of discussion that will be expected within the chosen group of residents.


Application Requirements

Applicants should submit:

1. a brief personal bio in paragraph form (.doc, .docx, .pdf)

2. your CV (.doc, .docx, .pdf)

3. a short statement or letter of intent regarding how you would like to utilize the three weeks of the residency (1 page maximum) (.doc, .docx, .pdf)

4. no more than 15 images of current work produced in the last 2 years along with a list of captions (.jpg, .pdf, no more than 5 mb each)

Please include a link to your website and any other information that would be relevant to your work in the residency. Artists must be working in photography.

Equipment required – Film or digital camera with capable full manual controls, tripod. 

Residency Fee: $900

Includes a $100 administration fee, weekday meals and housing; does not include artist materials, transportation, or weekend meals.
