Ours will be a residency for writers already hard at work on a project, but who currently feel creatively stifled or somewhat “stuck” in terms of how to proceed. Residency participants should be prepared to break away from any preconceived or prescriptive notions about how to write, and instead be willing to engage with informed, constructive feedback that will likely take their work in wildly new, creative directions. In order to make your time at ACA as aesthetically enriching and productive as possible, not only will I meet with each of you individually, but we’ll also spend our collective time together plumbing the depths of form and content, experimentation, and literary tradition, so that the work you generate will be bold, exciting, and uniquely your own.
-Submit a writing sample of approximately 10-12 pages
-Either a 250-word bio or a creative CV/resume
-A personal statement of up to 300 words describing your literary influences and aspirations, as well as what you hope to achieve during the residency.
All residency fees, room, and board are waived; this does not include travel, transportation, and artist materials.
Application fee: $25
